Every morning I walk from the Judiciary Square metro, at the 4th Street exit, across the way to 3rd Street, and every morning it is a gauntlet of unwelcome “hey baby”-s “damn you lookin fine”-s and “mmmm mmmm”-s from the assorted loiterers outside the buildings. Just the anticipation of it is unnerving, and sometimes I take the longer route and exit the metro at the National Building Museum just to avoid it.
