Logan Circle Harasser
I walk through Logan Circle every day on my way home from work. It is a popular place for homeless people, mothers/children, and just passerbys. For a long time I was never bothered, but in the past week I have harassed twice.
The first time there was an obnoxiously loud man yelling at people in all directions. His comments to me were “Oh baby I’m not gay, come over here.” I later took my dog out and he was still sitting there harrassing the women that were walking around the circle as a workout: guessing their age, telling them they didn’t have to lose an weight, and many other inappropriate comments. Mind you this is not quiet, everyone around the circle, and even across the street, could hear this man yelling.
The second time I was walking through and a man who was sitting on the bench actually got up to walk behind me and said “seniorita, mucha bonita (muttering).” I watched to make sure he wasn’t behind me very long, and just kept walking, trying to catch up to the people in front of me.
Logan Circle is a nice place to sit and relax on a nice day, but I don’t know if I will be relaxing over there any time soon.
