Rubbed Against at Safeway
Location: Safeway on Columbia Road (Adams Morgan)
Time: Evening Rush Hour (3:30pm-7:30pm)
Today I went to the Admo Safeway close by where my husband and I live. When I was in the line to the cashier, I noticed that a man was standing as to lean too close to me, nearly rubbing me with the back side of his wrist. I twisted around and I stared very disapprovingly at his face. Noticing my non-verbal disapproval, he shouted, “don’t look at me that way, I’m not goin to rob you, I am not a robber!” I replied, ” I didn’t believe you would rob me.” Suddenly, his wife appeared and started talking to him about me, insinuating within earshot that I was probably a racist, it’s so unfair (lose-lose!)!!! Help!
