“His behavior was so brazen.”
Location: Metro Center (13th & F St NW)
Time: Daytime (9:30am-3:30pm)
My friend (visiting from out of town) was coming to meet me at my office on F St. Walking from the metro to my office, a man on a bike approached her and tried to get her attention. When she removed her headphone, he started being explicitly sexual and threatening.
She crossed back the way she came to get away from him, but he followed on his bike. When she ran into the food court on F St. to get away from him, he jumped off his bike and ran up to the doors after her.
She had to ask security for another exit from the food court, but unfortunately due to construction the only other exit was only a few doors down. So she waited in the food court for a few minutes before cautiously leaving by the second exit.
I really hate that the end of my friend’s visit was tarnished by this harassment, and I’m furious that this behavior was so brazen for the middle of the day in a heavily trafficked area.
