Help Ensure Restroom Access for All
If you’ve ever needed to “go” in downtown D.C., you know there are very few public options. In fact, there are only five public restrooms in the District – all on the National Mall, and only two of which are open 24/7.
The Public Restroom Facilities Installation & Promotion Act seeks to change that.
It will establish install 10 clean, safe, and accessible restrooms throughout the city and create incentives for businesses to open their restrooms to the public.
Access to public restrooms benefits all of us, particularly people experiencing homelessness, young children and their parents, seniors, tourists, cab drivers, joggers, and bikers. We all need a safe place to go when nature calls.
Unfortunately, if the public restrooms bill isn’t brought for a vote by the end of 2018, the legislative process for it will have to start over. That’s where you come in! Whether supporting as an individual, business, or organization, sign this petition urging D.C. Council to bring the bill to a vote before the end of the year.
CASS is dedicated to ensuring everyone has safe, reliable access to restrooms.
