CASS believes that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and care. Respect is honoring individual and collective traumas and each person’s approach to the work of healing and systemic change. We try to model this value by valuing the agency of, honoring the dignity of, and listening to everyone with whom we work. We also know that disrespectful behavior is not an apolitical act. Too often, people are demeaned and silenced by others based on their marginalized identities. We commit to making safer spaces where everyone is respected. Inherently, we know this means that we are building a world free of racism, sexism, ableism, classism, transphobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, colonialism, and all other forms of structural oppression while centering holistic wellness and community care as central to our collective freedom.
